As Ray Lewis ends his career on the field after a stunning year, and the Lombardi to top it off, some might say that for this athlete to find God after being connected to a stabbing is suspect.  Doesn’t God operate similarly in many lives?  That is to say, for some, the only way to look is up, once hitting rock bottom.  If the man was involved, and has truly been changed, he WILL own up to it.  If he is not involved, then is it not a pity that his new life was not better received by the naysayers? I say give the man his quote on national television. “If God be for us, who can be against us“, this from Paul’s words in Romans (8:31 NIV).  Ray Lewis has a vigor and personality that many shake their head at, but the man on fire for The Lord has an opportunity to reach a very large audience.  Some hate him, but Jesus said “They will hate you because they hated me first“. This is no surprise to Ray Lewis, nor is it a surprise for Tim Tebow, and the scores of other celebrity Christians.  He is tough, and his legacy begins now.  God Bless You, Ray Lewis, stand strong and pray often, the world is tough, but Jesus Christ has overcome it!

Hurricane Sandy has brought a tremendous amount of destruction across the northeastern United States, especially in the Tri-State Area of New York/New Jersey/Connecticut.  This area, as well as the area stretching from DC to Boston, and inward through West Virginia and Ohio has experienced an array of weather conditions including blizzard-like snowfall, heavy ice, flooding, down power-lines, toppled trees, missing roads and structures. All of this yields for many, no power, no heat, dangerous conditions and surely many injuries and even death.  Please begin to pray for each of these people that have been affected..  Many can be saved through these times, and many need strength, not only to survive, but to be the Body of Christ during this time.  Pray for those that are helping others, pray for safety, strength, salvation, and brotherly love.  Continue to pray for at least 3 days, but let us not forget the tragedies that are happening in people’s lives as we read this post.

Father in heaven, we pray now for your people that have been stricken by this massive storm. We see the power of your all-mightiness and we stand in awe.  Lord we know that you tear down and you build up, we pray now lord God that your healing and strengthening is fast on it’s way to those that are suffering as we pray right now. Strengthen your body as they tend to the injured, guide those that are lost, that they might find salvation, lead us all into the truth of your scripture that we may know that even in this destruction, you are the light and you can do all things.  Please Father God, bring these people through this tragedy and bring all of our eyes upward toward you.  Thank you my Lord in Heaven, In Jesus Name we pray..  Amen.

After prayer and meditation, take a look at: – Sandy’s trail of devastation

Anticipation of trouble makes trifles appear unduly large, and the troubles that never come make up an imagined burden that will crush the spirit.  They are haunting specters, as unsubstantial as a bad dream, and we spend the strength that should be expended in constructive work and services in fighting problems that do not even exist.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4

1.Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2.By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3.For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4.And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures..

(James Smith, “MARY” 1859)

“Mary sat at Jesus’ feet, listening to what He taught” Luke 10:39

Let us notice Mary’s POSITION. She was sitting at the feet of Jesus. Most probably He was reclining on the couch, and she went and took her place behind Him, where she could hear what He said, and occasionally get a glimpse of His face.

It is the posture of HUMILITY–she took the lowest place. She had no wish to be seen, nor did she regard her own ease–she was intent on getting good from Jesus.

It was the posture of ATTENTION–she wished to catch every word, and to understand all that the Lord was saying. If Jesus is teaching–then Mary will attend and listen.

It was the posture of a LEARNER–she was a disciple of Jesus, therefore she sat down at His feet, that she may receive of His words. He need not now say unto her, “Learn of Me,” for she was most anxious to do so.

It was the posture of SATISFACTION–if she could but be within the sound of His voice, within the sight of His eye–it was enough for Mary. Anywhere with Jesus–would satisfy her!

It was also the posture of REPOSE–here at the feet of Jesus, she found rest unto her soul. Her desires were satisfied, her love was gratified, her hungry soul was fed. It was enough.

Being at the feet of Jesus was to her–a kind of earthly heaven.

Mary sat at the feet of Jesus in a humble cottage.
She now sits by His side in the heavenly mansion!

Reader, how is it with you?

Are you humble enough to take a seat at the feet of Jesus?

Is it your delight to listen to His words?

Are you like a little child desiring to learn of Him, and be taught by Him?

Are you satisfied–if you can but get near to Jesus?

Do you find sweet and refreshing repose in His presence?

The lyrics to this awesome rhyme:

To be a survivor in this Amazing Race with the need for speed you need God’s Grace and if your desperate like housewives watching days of our lives, you can’t cope without hope and that is not on a soap. If your looking to Oprah or Dr. Phil you can shop non-stop or pop a pill, but the void won’t fill and the pain won’t kill until you love the one that hung on a hill. Kicking back in your lazy boy easy chair watching Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, nah your not gonna find it there. No American Idol or Council Tribal has the final answer that will satisfy ya. C. S. I. ain’t got a clue. S.V.U. Don’t know what to do Not the E R or those seen on a CD TV DVD or MP3 can save you and me. CNN has got no Good News here’s a headline you must choose. It’s not a simple life Paris Hilton, It’s treading on thin ice living in sin. You can be an apprentice for Donald Trump or eat Fear Factor fast food from a dump you can be a heavy hitter or wheel of fortune winner or a Fox news no spin spinner or flat sinner but you better check this life that your livin’ and make sure your sins are forgiven I bet cha 50 cent Elvis done come and went, and eventually every Black-eyed-pea, Gwen Stefani, P-Diddy and Britney. Every wanna-be on M T V with their Icy Bling, every Dixie Chick that Sings, they all gonna see the king of kings. I don’t care if your J-Lo, Leno or Bono. One thing you gotta know. Some day your gonna die, Bro. Then Where are you gonna go. Hey, i’m not talking some punk junk that is irrelevant. Like your Grandma’s church from way back when. It’s not some preacher feature on T B N. that you need to be liking or listening. The real superstar is Jesus Christ. He’s the way, the truth and the life. One day he’s gonna split the sky. He is the brightest light and the highest high and so what I came to say and what I’m telling you is don’t buy that stupid stuff they be selling ya it’s all designed to fill your head and waste your space until your dead here’s the bottom line in my rhyme. Give your life to God while there is still time.

Relax your mind and humble your heart to focus on Christ. Allow God to be the only person on your mind while you read this prayer.

Dear Lord, I thank you for this day. I thank You for my being able to see and to hear this morning. I’m blessed because You are a forgiving God and an understanding God. You have done so much for me and You keep on blessing me. Forgive me this day for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you. I ask now for Your forgiveness.

Please keep me safe from all danger and harm. Help me to start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of each day to clear my mind so that I can hear from You.

Let me not whine and whimper over things I have no control over. Let me continue to see sin through God’s eyes and acknowledge it as evil. And when I sin, let me repent, and confess with my mouth my wrongdoing, and receive the forgiveness of God.

And when this world closes in on me, let me remember Jesus’ example — to slip away and find a quiet place to pray. It’s the best response when I’m pushed beyond my limits. I know that when I can’t pray, You listen to my heart. Continue to use me to do Your will.

Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me strong that I may help the weak. Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others. I pray for those who are lost and can’t find their way.. I pray for those who are misjudged and misunderstood. I pray for those who don’t know You intimately.  I pray for those who don’t believe. But I thank you that I believe.

I believe that God changes people and God changes things. I pray for my  parents,  my children, my sisters and brothers. For every family member in their households. I pray for peace, love and joy in their homes that they are out of debt and all their needs are met. I pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than God. Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight.  I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye that sees them and every mouth that confesses them willingly..

This is my prayer.

In Jesus’ Name,

Letter from Jesus about Christmas —

It has come to my attention that many of you are upset that folks are taking my name out of the season. How I personally feel about this celebration can probably be most easily understood by those  of you who have been blessed with children of your own. I don’t care what you call the day. If you  want to celebrate my birth, just GET ALONG AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

Now, having said that let me go on. If it bothers you that the town in which you live doesn’t allow a scene depicting my birth, then just get rid of a couple of Santas and snowmen and put in a small Nativity scene on your own front lawn.  If all my followers did that there wouldn’t be any need for such a scene on the town square because there would be many of them all around town.

Stop worrying about the fact that people are calling the tree a holiday tree, instead of a Christmas tree. It was I who made all trees. You can remember me anytime you see any tree. Decorate a grape vine if you wish: I actually spoke of that one in a teaching, explaining who I am in relation to you and what each of our tasks was. If you have forgotten that one, look up John 15: 1-8.
1. Instead of writing protest letters objecting to the way my birthday is being celebrated, write letters of love and hope to soldiers away from home. They are terribly afraid and lonely this time of year. I know, they tell me all the time.If you want to give me a present in remembrance of my birth, here is my wish list. Choose something from it:

2. Visit someone in a nursing home. You don’t have to know them personally. They just need to know that someone cares

about them.
4. Instead of giving your children a lot of gifts you can’t afford and they don’t need, spend time with them. Tell them the story of my birth, and why I came to live with you down here. Hold them in your arms and remind them that I love them.3. Instead of writing the President complaining about the wording on the cards his staff sent out this year, why don’t you write and tell him that you’ll be praying for him and his family this year. Then follow up… It will be nice hearing from you again.

5. Pick someone that has hurt you in the past and forgive him or her.

6. Did you know that some in your town will attempt to take their own life this season because they feel so alone and hopeless? Since you don’t know who that person is, try giving everyone you meet a warm smile; it could make the difference.

7. Instead of nit picking about what the retailer in your town calls the holiday, be patient with the people who work there. Give them a warm smile and a kind word. Even if they aren’t allowed to wish you a “Merry Christmas” that doesn’t keep you from wishing them one. Then stop shopping there on Sunday. If the store didn’t make so much money on that day they’d close and let their employees spend the day at home with their families

8. If you really want to make a difference, support a missionary–especially one who takes my love and  Good News to those who have never heard my name.

9. Here’s a good one. There are individuals and whole families in your town who not only will have no “Christmas” tree, but neither will they have any presents to give or receive. If you don’t know them, buy some food and a few gifts and give them to the Salvation Army or some other charity which believes in me and they will make the delivery for you.

10. Finally, if you want to make a statement about your belief in and loyalty to me, then behave like a Christian. Don’t do things in secret that you wouldn’t do in my presence. Let people know by your actions that you are one of mine.

Don’t forget; I am God and can take care of myself. Just love me and do what I have told you to do. I’ll take care of all the rest. Check out the list above and get to work; time is short. I’ll help you, but the ball is now in your court. And do have a most blessed Christmas with all those whom you love and remember:

Following is a repost from a facebook group:

Good day all my friends,

I have so many people telling me that they are slipping away from God and no matter what they do or how hard they try they can’t get back. One of the many reasons why people get lost along the way is because they believe the lies of the devil. People all over are turning away from God because things keep going wrong and they just don’t have the energy to go on fighting and they lose faith and another thing is simply because things from the world are just too nice to give up. When friends ask us to party or to do something, we just cannot say no.
We as children of God must come to the point where we decide what is more important, God or the world. Do we say no to our friends or do we say no to God?

That is why I want to talk today about discipline….

To be a child of God is a choice and to stay a child of God is very hard work. By that I mean, you have to fight for God. It is amazing that you became a follower of Christ but my dear friend it does not stop there. You have to discipline yourself to read your bible and to pray. You have to make that decision not to fall back.
Let see what the bible says about that….

Pro 12:1 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.
Pro 5:23 He dies for lack of discipline, and because of his great folly he is led astray.

Temptation will always knock on your door and difficult times will always be there, things will never be just ok. We go trough seasons in our lives with everything. Now you feel strong in your faith and in a weeks time you feel so depressed you just want to give up. My friends God wants to see if you stay faithful to Him in Good and bad times. Some bad times go on for months but your reward at the end will be so much bigger. Once you are a child of God you are His forever, but its your duty to seek Him…to want Him…to go after Him.

Discipline yourself in your faith….God is worth your time and effort…His deserves is that you give up all the things of the world…

We as Christians will always have tough times…but heaven is worth it. Please hang in there, you are not alone!

Trust only in God, He will never let you down
Psa 118:8 It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man.

Through Christ, all things are possble
